United Kingdom : the future site of Cornwall’s Energy Recovery Centre

It has now nine months since VINCI Environment UK received the notice to proceed with construction contract for the Center of Energy Recovery from waste CERC after conducting a 6 months phase of Pre-Engineering. It is the largest construction project in Cornwall in recent years. From July, the areas for the equipment of Flue Gas Treatment and Thermal Treatment will be made available by the Civil Engineering. VINCI Environment UK teams are already on site to install the boiler and flue gas treatment steel structures. The 2 spray towers and 2 bag filters will be installed before the end of September. The furnaces and boilers will be pre-assembled in late August and the lifting operations for the large pieces of the boilers are due shortly before Christmas. From 2015, the equipment dedicated to the energy recovery will be installed and finishes will be undertaken to a cold start test contractually scheduled for November 2015.
